State Regulations:

Medical marijuana was legalized in Colorado in 2000, and patients could access it the following year. Recreational marijuana was legalized in 2012, and the first recreational store opened in 2014.

Local municipalities in Colorado can fully ban medical marijuana operations within their borders.

 

Minors

Children under the age of 18 can use medical marijuana as long as they have one doctor’s certification and a parent or guardian acting in the role of caretaker.
