Cannacurio: Cultivation Leaderboard (November 2020 Update)

We last looked at cannabis cultivation licenses in early fall and today’s post is an update on new licenses issued as well as total licenses. In September California and Oklahoma have been responsible for over 89% of the new cultivation licenses. This has dipped slightly to 87% even though California and Oklahoma issued 1,059 new cultivation licenses in September, October and November.

Key Findings

  • Active cannabis cultivation licenses in the database now number 18,172
  • 5,402 new cultivation licenses have been added this year
  • Michigan is still a distant third with 333 licenses added this year
  • 87% of the new licenses were in California and Oklahoma

The table above illuminates the number of new licenses created but it does not show the affect of licenses that are cancelled, revoked, or administratively withdrawn.
