It's an exciting time in the marijuana industry and at Cannabiz Media. As we near the halfway point of 2017, it seems like the perfect time to update you on our accomplishments over the past few months and share with you our vision for this year and beyond.
This year has been an exciting one for Cannabiz Media. Significant accomplishments include:
Many of our customers use the Cannabiz Media Database for planning sales trips or for deciding where to put store locations. Now, you can search for all licenses within a specific number of miles of an address, city, or zip code. The results can be displayed on a map for quick analysis.
To help marketers and researchers pinpoint licenses of interest, you can now choose to see records that have an email, phone number, and street address as well as facility size and violations.
As part of our efforts to provide as much license-related information as possible, we are adding applications, public notices, decisions, and permits. Now, you can narrow your searches to records that contain an attachment.
We now cover over 16,500 licenses in 25 states, and we have added almost 10,000 contacts linked to licenses.
Since February 1, the data team has updated 8,470 records. Updates included email addresses, websites, social media links, and applications.
As the marijuana economy grows, the need for the information Cannabiz Media provides will increase in importance to meet your sales, competitive, and business intelligence needs. We are excited to continue executing against our vision and putting our focus on three key new areas: Canada, CNB Post, and New States.
Here is a preview of what is coming in the next three months:
Canadian federal marijuana licenses have been included in the database. With the next release, you will be able to search by country (Canada or US) to find those licenses.
In the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out a new feature called CNB Post in order to ensure that you always have the most up-to-date and deliverable emails for your outreach efforts. To protect privacy and help prevent against blocked and invalid emails, Cannabiz Media created CNB Post , a proprietary email routing system to deliver your content to the right people.
We do this by providing you with an email address that comes to our CNB Post router, which then directs emails to the right person. This means if a person, company, or license changes their email address, we can update it in our system, and your emails will automatically be routed to the correct address.
These emails come out as sent from you, and any replies to your emails will be directed back to you, not to us. Additionally, this helps us prevent spamming and protect the anonymity of people in some states where law may require it. This also allows us to disable email addresses if required and notify you when someone no longer exists at a given company.
Additionally, CNB Post provides several powerful templating features, and we'll be rolling out a simple mailing list feature soon.
The data team is keenly watching developments in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Arkansas. As license and application announcements are made, we will add this information to the Cannabiz Media Database.
Our goal at Cannabiz Media is to create the most timely, accurate, and comprehensive marijuana license database available to assist industry stakeholders with their business, competitive, and sales intelligence needs. Our top priority is to ensure we have every available license for your use and then to enhance each of these licenses with contact information, social media links, license-related news stories, full text applications, and other related data.
In addition to this content, we will continue to add functionality to help our customers' sales, research, and business development workflows by providing intuitive and indispensable ways to discover, search, and utilize these resources. Through our APIs and broad adoption of our unique Cannabiz ID™, we will facilitate trusted commerce between stakeholders in the marijuana economy.
We welcome any feedback and questions you have. You’ll find the Cannabiz Media team at the Marijuana Business Conference & Expo in Washington DC from May 16 – 19 (Booth #1122) and at the Cannabis Business Summit in Oakland, CA from June 12-14 (Booth #1116). Of course, you can always contact us directly at any time.
